@Erik_The_Red I'd love to know a bit more about this if you can share! I have the same Epic Evo, built with a Fox 34 (off my old Stumpy ST) and the stock shock. I live in Nisene and want to beef it up a bit, love the way this looks. Can you share the config on the Fox 36 (travel, spacers etc.) and the shock - did you need a new shock link? Is it the same e2e as what comes standard? Thanks in advance!

Nice Man!!
 I'm on a similar set up / mindset & I love this bike. 
I started with the stock Epic EVO 8 Pro went maxxis  2.5 front, 2.4 rear, Hope floating rotors 200mm + caliper spacer front, 180 rear, Industry 9 50mm stem, Enve M7 bars, ODIi lock on's, 5Dev 32t gear, Yoshimura Chilao SS pedals, Fizik adaptive saddle. 

I'm fine with the 34 fork, but the shock feels too small, I added a couple volume spacers & got the settings pretty dialed but I think it could be better. 
As far as the judgy know it all frame breaker comments, if it happens, it happens & it's been fun making it happen. I'll do it again.

You are correct. This bike has identity crisis. So you have XC bike - Epic, then company (Specialized) put bigger shock on it and fork, tires and all other, and make it downcountry i.e. heavier on climbs.

Than on top of that this guy took Fox 36, piggyback shock, heavy tires and put them on XC bike. So what is a point, just buy a Stumpjumper and call it good with proper frame and geo for that kind of riding.

I appreciate your opinion, but you’re wrong.  This bike is WAY more efficient/fun to pedal than a Stumpjumper.  Most of my rides start on asphalt and never get gnarly enough to warrant a bigger bike.  People see a 36 and reservoir shock and shit their pants.  I prefer a stiffer fork and geometry preservation the Neo allows.  I would way rather ride a beefed XC/trail bike than a weight-weenie all mountain bike

Sweet build. I have a Spur with a Fox 34 at 130mm on the front. I often wonder what it'd be like with a 36 on the front!

Forget 'downcountry'... This is RAMPAGECOUNTRY! Seriously fun looking bike. Set your KOM on the way up... Still set a KOM on the way down.
