Did anyone figure out what happened, other than the obvious of being an insanely huge drop? It almost sounded like his rear wheel exploded.
Unsure if it was a mechanical but tmac usually makes his big drops step downs because otherwise you lose all forward momentum and are just dropping straight down. Gee basically hits the landing and gets kicked forward from all that gravitational momentum. Hope his injuries are nothing too major.

Agreed. I hope he is ok.
Something about the sound just made me think wheel or frame failure not just failing to stick the landing.

I saw/read somewhere that Gee's drop was really close (horizontally) and the takeoff curved down over the cliff edge to point down at the landing and he hit it too fast and landed too deep on the landing.
Also looked like the wind blew him to the left and he missed the sweet spot.
rampage was better when it was about technicality and raw lines. Now it’s just a massive slopestyle huckfest that leaves people battered. The wind is a major issue every year. There’s surely a better way to highlight the best of the best.
For Gee's drop he would have hit the landing with 40mph of vertical velocity, which is pretty hefty.
For anyone interested I assumed that he travelled 23m as it looks like he overshot by about 10 feet and it measured 20m in the Red Bull video, the angle of the drop from the video comes out as 36 degrees from vertical, so he's falling 18.6m, I included air resistance assuming the drag to be between 2 to 3 times that of a skydiver and with him and the bike weighing 100kg, this takes only 2 to 3 mph off his impact velocity compared to having no drag. Even if the angle measurement is plus or minus 2 degrees off it'll only widen the range of accuracy by 1mph, so basically he lands with a vertical velocity of 40.5mph +/- 1mph. Also his about 5mph of vertical velocity he has coming down off the top can be ignored as even though you might think it just adds on to his impact velocity it actually means he's in the air for less time to accelerate, so almost exactly cancels out at this speed.
Looks like Brendog, Gee and Godziek will attempt to jump onto that narrow rock up top, absolutely mental line. But if there is even a hint of wind it has to be unrideable...
