I hope the ews organizers are taking notes. That shouldnt happen again. Even without the heli they need to secure the flagging better

The wind from the Helicopter moved the flagging. You can see it being blown around. Some super rich a hole just had to have a close look

Who needs uphills? Just have low flying helicopters along the straights... Hats off to Moir, I imagine that encounter could easily shake a rider up.

Sharks, helicopters in his face blowing poles and tape at him, nothing can stop Jack! My respect continues to grow for Jack. What a tough competitor! He didn't even mention the helicopter in his post race interviews.

what the heck is a chopper going so close to riders for... it caused the course poles to get disloodge and even cross over each other... that would have easily impacted his run on that stage by a couple of seconds at least.. not to mention the wind buffetting slowing him down....

Was THIS the discovery network coverage that the chopper was filming? still haven't been able to find it. Was that PR earlier in the year on April fools? Glad Jack made it through the chopper chaos with a win! Congrats. #Vloglife

Discovery owns Play Sports Group, which operates GMBN. I don't think they were ever going to show EWS events on a Discovery branded channel, but they invested in the company that owns EWS, and also brought in Play Sports Group to up the production through GMBN. So yes, it's possible if this helicopter was getting footage of the race then it was in a way connected to Discovery.

GMBN have already improved the EWS videos in the first two events with quicker turn arounds, better edits, side by side footage etc.. but they have also brought in a lot of sponsor marketing and now this piece of stupidity. Hopefully they learn from this and Kudos to Jacko for still smashing the stage !

I'm not keen on the current coverage with the 'now over to you with this bit' style and too many presenters. Probably works well for people that are fairly new to the sport, though.
Wyn TV and raw footage it is for me.

The helicopter pilot didn't seem to care that he was causing the course tape to be all over the place and that he could have made Jack crash or lose his race. Hats off to you for the win Jack, keep it up!

Or get a longer lens on the helicopter and back waaaaay off. Someone's race run is not the time to "get the shot!!"
