Our recent introduction to the Value DH Project stressed that no matter how much it seems like the industry may want us to, the fact of the matter is that not everyone can drop their life savings on a bike. It’s just not feasible for everyone to build a $10,000 bike featuring the latest and greatest carbon componentry, nor is it necessary to really enjoy your time on the mountain. We listened to your cries for reviews and features on low cost components and bikes and the Value DH Project is a step in that direction.
After presenting a handful of good value options for each type of component,
your votes were tallied and the parts assembled. The finished product looks pretty good, right? It weighs in at 41.38-pounds.
In the next several slides we take a closer look at the various high-value parts and pieces that came together to complete the build, including a quote from each brand about how they're able to keep costs low and performance high. Click 'next' to check them out.
