I had my first one built with a 150mm MRP Stage and it had a an offset 10mm less than fox/sram so it rode about the same with a 40mm stem as this does I feel. I feel like the tune on the V1 with the monarch was better than what this comes with from fox even though I feel like this shock is better across the board than the sram offering. I can see how some might say this is more park bike the way its set up from the factory, but this suits the way I ride. its pretty much out of the box what I felt like was the best bike ever but I had to go a custom route with the V1 to get this ride quality. It was a hard choice between this, the Smuggie, or the Sentinel, I also looked at an SB 5.5lr, Following, SB 4.5 and the Pivot mach 5.5 and went back to this even though its a damn tank. what it comes down to for me is what is the most fun. This bike suits my style, slope bike that thinks its a DH sled and likes to climb. If I was looking to win enduros, I would have gone carbon Sentinel or Trek Slash. As much as id love to go for that glory, I can't pass up the fun line on a trail, I want to pop and play and jiib everything in sight and this is the bike that allows me to express myself in all the ways.

also, there are many bikes I don't care for on this site, but like most adults, I don't even put forth the effort to express it because, WHY? to take someone down a peg? seems rude. Theres enough "bro" in this sport, and plenty of ego, so why not shift the paradigm away from the overwhelming amount of negativity in Mtn bike culture and bring about some positivity?

Thanks! I have a first gen Scout my self and I'm having a tough time deciding whether or not to go for something that's a bit more capable in the ruff when the speed picks up with a bit more pedalfriendly linkage . I was secretly hoping that the new SBG scout would be both a bit more capable and more alert when stomping the pedals

I'm going to try a bit of shock tuning see where that takes me, all in all I really like my little scout
