Kappius Components Rear Hub 1

Another huge benefit to the system is where the wheel bearings are located. In this photo, you can see a traditional freehub body (red) and the Kappius Components hub at the front (black). On the traditional version, the bearing is about 1/3 of the way into the hub. On the Kappius Components hub, the bearing is much closer to the outside of the hub. Due to the incredible torsional loads we put wheels under while cornering, wider spaced bearings are better. As added benefits, the bearing is much larger and is easier to access for maintenance. Russ told us that a 150x12mm rear and 20mm front hub are also in the works for DH bikes.
