Norco showed us a more affordable aluminum version of their Aurum DH bike, previously only available in carbon. The Aurum Alloy 7.2 shown here features a RockShox Domain fork, a FOX Van RC shock, a mixed SRAM/Shimano 7-speed transmission and SRAM's Guide R brakes.

Just like its bigger carbon brother, the 650B Aurom Alloy develops 200-mm of travel via a Horst Link rear triangle layout, and it features Norco's "Gravity Tune". Gravity Tune means varying the length of the rear triangle members across the different sizes to keep the front-centre to rear-centre (chainstay) ratio similarly balanced regardless of the size of bike you need.

The clean but vivid paint job keeps the bike looking fresh, and Norco's attention to detail with things like an integrated fork bumper/front fender is nice to see on a budget-friendly build like this $3000 Aurum Alloy 7.2.
