As different (some would say kooky) as it may look, I'd still be interested to, and most certainly wouldn't knock it until I tried it. Most designs start out extreme but refine over time. Pushing the boundaries of conventional fit and geometry are pretty much what Pole or Geometron have based their businesses/designs on. In terms of moving the bars back, Mondraker and Pacenti have offered the same approach to some extent.

Personally, I find best to remain open minded for often it's designs like these that are the nexus of something new - weird as they may be. People once scoffed at longer reach numbers, wider pedal platforms, 29" wheels, on and on......

Went to this young man's website and it seems he's put some thought and effort into his design. As I skimmed through the FAQ's on his site, lots of his thought process is centered around steering axis relationships and centralization of rider weight. Can't vouch for his numbers, can't say how much of it is placebo effect and can't say how much of it is marketing. But he does provide some supporting contextual detail as to why it's designed this way.

Plus, the he put his design on the top of the box during a Southridge series event. That says a little something.

BMB stem aside, one of the coolest things about 'Otter is all the garage engineers that circulate the pits with their home-brewed designs. Still gives me a little hope. And it sure beats companies that buy an out of the catalog design and overly hype it's colors and graphics to us as the latest greatest thing.

That poor front brakeline tho!

Would be cool to do a video testing the basic idea of this with an uncut steerer tube.  I feel like I’d loose the front end a lot with my bars that high.

The position those put a rider in is reminiscent of child on a scooter. Would be interesting to try something that extreme.
