Thats actually a cool idea. Could come in handy if you are ever on a multi day trip and need to charge GPS or something.

Though I wonder how much better a solar cell system built into a backpack or helmet would be?

I was thinking the same thing with multi-day bike-packing trips! I think this would provide a lot more consistent power than solar though, especially if you have some decent down hill sections. Clouds and riding direction vs. time of day would play a big part in the solar charging.
