Round 3 of the California Enduro Series, the Livewire Classic Enduro, took place last weekend at Northstar at Tahoe. The race covered 19 miles with 2300' of climbing and 2900' of descending. There were 3 timed stages. Stage 1 took racers down Livewire, Northstar's premier jump trail which is packed with super tall berms and big table tops.
Stage 2 was a nearly five mile pedal-fest. This stage started off with some flats, and short climbs before descending a fast technical section. This was followed by a long flat pedal out to an uphill fire road finish. Super physical indeed.
Stage 3 featured fast flowy trail with some steep berms and table top jumps. The finish featured two big long and low senders.
While the course left many racers scratching their heads, as it was heavy on pedaling and light on Northstar's signature steep gnarled terrain, they put on their race faces for a proper day of bicycle racing.
