Brett Freaking Rheeder dropped a bomb on Joyride. His practice runs were podium contenders, but when he flipped in, half way through the first heat, all jaws hit the dirt. If he had any nerves at all, they were completely overshadowed by his confident and progressive riding. Pictured is the 2nd trick of his run off the Giant on-off dealie. He's boosting a 360 barspin-to-barspin-back which is technically on a level above any of the other riders right now, considering the jump itself. Rheeder continued to blaze his run with a massive front flip, a couple flip whips and a huge corked 720, something we've only consistently seen out of Semenuk until Rheeder threw it down. He trucked the house drop and finished with a whip in, to flip whip out of the finish feature. If there was going to be a winning run, this was it. Semenuk laid it on the line and snuffed out Rheeder's fire, forcing Rheeder to go for broke on run two. Unfortunately, the pressure and excitement was too much and Rheeder over-cooked a trick early on in his only attempt to move up. 2nd place and minds blown by what Rheeder can do on a bike.
