Day 2 race action - Slides 48-84.

Epic, all-time goodness to say the least! Sven and Boris crush it.

Without this man, the trails ridden by the EWS athletes in Derby, Tasmania, would probably not exist. Glen Jacobs who heads up World Trail, was out on stage one today watching the riders tackle his latest creation. What a cool feeling that must be. You can be proud Glen. -Sven Martin
Rae Morrison upgraded from #vanlife a few years ago. It's now all about #trucklife. -Sven Martin
3 Bikes, 1 Car.... @maddogboris
New Year, new tool bag for Colin Bailey. Everything you need, nothing you don't. -Sven Martin
No secrets or fussy pre-race rituals for Martin Maes and Wyn Masters. They just want to have a good time. Everybody is welcome in the Mediasquid house. @maddogboris
Commencal Junior shredder, Antoine Vidal, on his way to the top! To the top of Stage1 and to the top of the Junior results list so far. @maddogboris
The sligthly different race schedule opened up the opportunity to have a Spanish BBQ before the race run. @maddogboris
Jill Kintner ready for her first-ever timed EWS run. When the dust settled after day 1, she was in 5th place. Not a bad way to start an enduro career. @maddogboris
Martin Maes ticking all the boxes. Taking the win and queen stage last weekend and beginning this weekend in similar fashion. He led by 6 seconds after day 1. -Sven Martin
Martin Maes soaring above a slick surface. Low, fast and focused. -Sven Martin
Isabeau Courdurier not hanging about today. Winning the queen stage for the bonus points with a four-second margin and a day 1 lead. A perfect start to tomorrow's racing. -Sven Martin
Isabeau crushing the Queen stage 1. @maddogboris
Brought up in the era of social media, Junior first place on stage one Antoine Vidal , knows a thing or two about styling it up like the regular slideshow tweakers. He won the Queen stage. -Sven Martin
Jesse Melamed sending the biggest man-made double in EWS history. Most importantly, nearly all the Pro women jumped it, too. Yeow! Paid off with a 4th place for Jesse when day 1 concluded. @maddogboris
Riders only got one training run this morning, but because Jesse tests the limits of each section, I was able to leap-frog him a few times when he went back up. -Sven Martin
Jesse scrubbing off height, looking for grip and speed toward the bottom of stage one. -Sven Martin
Flat pedal thunder! Morgane Charre shows that her Podium wasn't just a one-hit wonder. 2nd place in stage 1, nipping at Isabeau's heels. @maddogboris
"I'm a big fan of Sam Hill." Morgane Charre.-Sven Martin
Stage one may be the closest an EWS stage comes to a DH track with just with a few drawn-out sections to link things up. Flat-out fast, wide, featured-filled and hero dirt. No surprise then that Connor Fearon, World Cup downhiller, finished in second place on the stage. -Sven Martin
Big hucks to flat up high on the course for Connor Fearon, then some loamy dirt and rain. The fork tells the story of his run after day 1. -Sven Martin
Florian Nicolai, king of consistency. He didn't hold back in this corner even though it was super slippery, hard-packed mud. @maddogboris
Flo, confident. @maddogboris
Frenchman, Kevin Miquel, with the 5th fastest time on stage 1. Momentum for day 2 as you'll see in the final results @maddogboris
EWS Rotorua Junior Winner Brady Stone just 0.6 Seconds behind Antoine with the second place. @maddogboris
Home crowd madness for Sam Hill. He is still a bit struggling after his flu and finished 11th overall on the day. He's looking for something to spark on day 2. @maddogboris
Brothers in arms. Rhys Atkinson, one of the head trail builders here and the builder of today's queen stage, with brother Bryn. Rhys with a seventh place on a trail he's ridden probably more than most, but still ever so humble. -Sven Martin
Ines Thoma is on her way back to the Top 5...9th Place for zee german. @maddogboris
Shooting the final section from the inside of the "bar" which was an old mining trough. The beers were free. -Sven Martin
Cecile Ravanel is such a boss! Instead of staying in bed or drinking coffee, she helps the team were ever she can. @maddogboris
Two views of Cody Kelley's tweak. What is your favorite angle? -Sven Martin
Angle two. #fishfrombelow -Sven Martin
Morgane Jonnier is racing for Peugeot is the sister of Sabrina Jonnier and she had her first Top10 stage result. @maddogboris
Keegan Wright with the ever-trending nose press pump between some clapping hands. 8th place at the end of day 1 proves last weekend in Rotorua wasn't just because of local knowledge. -Sven Martin
Early morning wakeup drops for Leonie Picton. 5th place for the Aussie after Stage1! @maddogboris
Not an ideal situation to be in. Losing your pedals before a huck-to-flat-plough-a-rock maneuver, holding on to a wild bronco. Baptiste Gaillot rides out the impossible. -Sven Martin
Aussie Rowena try with the 3rd fastest time today! @maddogboris
Wyn Masters swooping and pumping into the perfectly sculpted Vertigo MTB corner. Forty cases of beer were consumed and the DJ spun tunes all day long. We can live like this. -Sven Martin
Aussie Junior, Luke Meier-Smith, finished Stage1 just behind Brady and Antoine @maddogboris
Eddie looking for water bottle cage sponsor but still pulled a 21st on the day 1 with the lighter kit. -Sven Martin
ALN boosting in the light rain. There had to be over twenty gaps, doubles, bumps and root lips that got the riders airborne on this stage alone, -Sven Martin
Killian Callaghan has some vision difficulties during the rain which made it tricky for the pros. Tricky to attack on an inconsistent surface on the very first stage. -Sven Martin
The team sessioning during this morning's training paid off for the Rocky duo of Jesse and Remi. -Sven Martin
Keegan and Jesse checking out Remi Gauvin's steeze on the rockdrop. @maddogboris
Fans are always cool...some are just a bit cooler. They help us do our job and always have a cold beer for us. @maddogboris
Aussie Tim Eaton managed a powerful 10th place finish on stage 1. @maddogboris
Aussie World Cup DHer, Graeme Mudd with a 9th place on stage 1. @maddogboris
The rain and mud photos were taken at the same time as this dusty one. Conditions on day 1 were all over the place and the riders settled into their spots with another day of racing to follow. @maddogboris
A new day, new tracks and new conditions. Racing concluded with stages 2 through 6, which featured some of the most iconic slab-filled trails Blue Derby has to offer. Pictured, Connor Fearon. -Sven Martin
Most riders spend the last 5-8 Meters of the Final Stage in the Air...Martin Maes was for sure one of them.
A good ol' Straya Shoey for Martin. Good on ya mate! -Sven Martin
2 EWS races - 2 Wins: Isabeau Courdurier on fire. @maddogboris
Isabeau about to thread one of many fine needles and rock mazes on stage two; Detonate. -Sven Martin
Shoeys for everyone. Isabeau tastes the sweet smell of success. -Sven Martin
Jill in her first EWS and a second place finish. Job done. You can now add Enduro to disciplines what she's good at. Sven gives her the 3rd degree in the interview. -Sven Martin
Even Connor was surprised about his 3rd place here in derby. Actually he just wanted to do some races before the first World Cup after a three-month injury break in the off-season. Hopefully we see him at more EWS races! @maddogboris
Rowena Frey with a super solid 3rd place after 2 Days of racing. @maddogboris
The EWS U21 Men Podium. 1. Antoine Vidal, 2. Roly Kyme, 3. Kasper Woolley.
Remi Gauvin with a great 4th Place. The Rocky Team is pretty strong this season. They all love to send it and heckle each other. Just like in racing, there are no do-overs in interviews LOL. @maddogboris
The crowds definitely quintupled the population of Derby this weekend. @maddogboris
Poor Kevin Miquel. So close. This is the second time he has had a potential podium chance dashed by a flat tire. Flatting high up on stage five here, it's amazing that he was only two seconds off the podium. Mid-race run bar hump to let out some frustration. -Sven Martin
Martin and Jesse stepped in to help Kevin fix his flat. They had a big liaison to the top of the next stage, so they all pitched in and got it done, chop-chop, sharing gassies. -Sven Martin
Jesse Melamed went down hard. Stage 4, he finished 69th to come back and win stage 5. He then went 44th on stage 6th. He still finished the race in 8th position, but what a rollercoaster of a day for the promising Canadian. @maddogboris

Noga crept up into fourth after a slower start yesterday. Race run stage five. -Sven Martin
Sam Hill winning the last stage is just a reminder not to count him out just yet. Feeling fatigued and hungover from a cold last week he did what his body allowed this weekend resulting in 9th. -Sven Martin
Feels kinda weird to search for Sam Hill in the Results. Back to normal at EWS Madeira. @maddogboris
Morgane Charre with 2 crashes and still 7th. @maddogboris
Robin Wallner wins the bravery award for being first to send the massive, never-been-done (NBD) step down to berm on stage four. Which explains why anything smaller like this is mere childsplay to him. -Sven Martin
A crash on four kept Keegan just off the podium today. It's locked in that he's a legitimate podium contender when things stay rubber side down. -Sven Martin
ALN smashing the brown powder on the final turn of stage four. She landed in 5th place overall and is ready to keep the momentum going. -Sven Martin
6th place and heaps of laughter for Bex Barona. @maddogboris
Adrien Dailly still racing with an injured muscle and elbow. Hes feeling a little better than at Rotorua but he still has some way to go before he is 100% -Sven Martin
Eddie Masters with on the final stage within sight of the finish line and already flying the chequered flag. 7th for the weekend with some consistent riding. -Sven Martin
Matt Walker, not so lucky on stage six. -Sven Martin
Miranda Miller under the watchful eye of Ol Trouty, the rock which gave the trail its name. 10th place for the Canadian this weekend. -Sven Martin
No rain today....just dust, dust and more dust. #sensorcleaning @maddogboris
Anita Gehrig had a bit bad Luck today... @maddogboris
Caro Gehrig (16th overall) snaking through the crowds on stage six. -Sven Martin
Dimitri Tordo was obviously not really happy with his 17th place result. That's part of racing and we all know he will be up in the top 5 again. @maddogboris
10th place finisher Cole Lucas is looking for sponsors to continue the EWS race season. Hook a brother up and DM this kid on Insta - @cole.lucas. @maddogboris
Brook MacDonald definitely proud of Martin after all the Shoeys in the last few months! @maddogboris
Thumbs up to the amazing fans here in Derby! You guys absolutely killed it. @maddogboris
Yeow Thanks Derby for having us. It's always a treat. @maddogboris - Thanks to Sven and Boris for the mileage and action from an incredible weekend of racing once again! -gordo
