Mark Scott sending it on the big #enDHuro grassy knoll step down. #thisisenduroinNZ -Sven Martin
Kovarik, Sam Hill and Mike Jones. KORNers beware. -Sven Martin
Mike Jones, Stage 7, which features part of the DH track. -Sven Martin
Sam Hill on Stage 1. -Sven Martin
John Kirkcaldie winning practice like the good, old days. Good to see him, Ronning, Vanessa Quinn, Nathan Rankin and the whole crew racing here. -Sven Martin
Damien Oton pedaling the greasy and tricky Stage 1. -Sven Martin
Cedric Gracia was called Fredric Mafia in Clappin' Yo Dome. He's a goodfella on some good trails. -Sven Martin
Mark Weir with Ben Cruz in two. Stage 1. If anything is as wild as the landscape here, it's Weir. -Sven Martin
Dan Atherton, looking for some success in this season opener. -Sven Martin
Nico walks back up for another attempt while Sam Blenkinsop was one of three riders in an hour that made this near-impossible corner. Mind boggling to see the top racers in the world not able to ride a turn that, to the eye, looks straight forward. Toughest corner in EWS the last three years? Yes. -Sven Martin
Top Chief, Joe Barnes on the impossible corner. -Sven Martin
Kieran Bennett sending it on the DH course portion of Stage 7. Quite a few injuries today on this stage and it's surprising to see so many riders choosing to wear open face helmets and no pads on such a high-speed, high-risk stage. -Sven Martin
Early morning flight. -Sven Martin
Almost no visor, twat gap and short shirt. Minnaar not so Enduro, but the coil shock makes up for it. After a crash in Enduro training, Greg has decided to give it a skip this weekend and save himself for the World Cup DH season. -Sven Martin
The DH stage took many riders out today. The big, greasy gaps in the steep tree sections were still in the course, and this means riders will send it. The little bikes are a little less forgiving than a full-blown DH rig. -Sven Martin
Yoann Barelli keeping it wide open, squaring up roots and hopping trees this morning. -Sven Martin

Nico Lau, with some nasal cleansing. -Steel City Media
Fern 'n Burn. Nico Lau in audio. -Sven Martin
Gary Forest getting a little too close to the forest on Stage 7 today. -Sven Martin
Chris Seager and Joe Bowman can probably outride you with a twenty kilogram pack and swinging tripod and steady cam attached. -Sven Martin
Captain Coke Bottle AKA Joe Barnes in the early morning sun. -Sven Martin
Jerome Clementz feeling at home here now in NZ -Sven Martin
Lars Sternberg has been on the South Island on a Smith trip before this. Needless to say the PNW is probably the closest to NZ jungle you will get. -Sven Martin
Curtis Keene is keen to keep it lean and mean with some serious log ducking in between. -Sven Martin
Justin Leov, Stage 1. #backyarder -Sven Martin
Fabien Barel bottom of Stage 1. The lost and found should have about 208 GoPros in it after this weekend. -Sven Martin

Description
The riders of the Enduro World Series get to know the lay of the land on this 7-stage event. Twisty, steep jungle trails that blend into wide open DH runs are keeping riders on their toes and in the ER. The trails are slippery, the speeds are high and the consequences are real. Dig deep as Sven Martin and Joe Bowman take into the woods of Rotorua.

We just learned that Chris Johnston broke his collarbone and will be out. Such a bummer. Heal up quickly!
