Initially used on the World Cup downhill circuit, the Shimano SM-RT99 finned ICE Technologies disc brake rotor is now available at the XTR level. Improving the heat absorbing capacity compared to the RT98 disc rotor through the addition of aluminium cooling fins between each spider arm, these rotors reduce heat by an additional 40 degrees. An aluminium rotor spider further increases braking efficiency. In addition, the XTR brakes have been once again improved, and they've dropped about 40 grams per brake.
