yeah one of my E-mtb's came with a 27.5+ rear, rear grip was incredible and it felt like riding on Aladins carpet on small chunk but you took a berm at any sort of speed (let alone squaring it up) and the vague feeling was not good. I constantly burped them too.
Climbing traction was incredible, was like an Aired out 4x4.
Ya, climbing on them was great. But for descending I don't even like 2.6 inch tires. They grip too good at slow and moderate speeds, so when you expect to break traction they don't causing oversteer (I suppose I could adjust my riding style), and I felt like they messed with my fork rebound (I assume I'd need slower rebound?), meanwhile once you get up to speed or push hard into something they grip less than a 2.4 and break traction when you need it most. Plus tires were this but even worse.
Still, if I had debilitating hand pain, I'd give it a try in the front and rear. You can adjust your riding style, and its better than sitting on the couch.
