Yeah I agree, they know theyd be paying much more in salary and cost flying them around the world if they didnt have BK. Pivot pits dont have alot of extra, mechanics wrenching multiple bikes, Marshy handling all of the juniors.

Hell there is more people in the Santa Cruz pit than there is a Factory supercross pit with 3+ factory riders. There is a couple of different physios that are used by all of the supercross pit but bicycling all have their own team physio at every race. They can do what they want to do but with all the talk about cutting back on racing seems their is more sensible ways before cutting riders.

Not sure about the exact staff levels of supercross physios, but on the whole running a factory SX/MX team is orders of magnitude more expensive than any DH team. A lot of that is logistics and travel costs simply because there are sooooo many more races. Running a top level, two rider 450 team is a $15-20 million per year operation including rider salaries.

Imagine shipping a moto intercontinentally... Sounds heinous.

SRAM brakes & rotors.

Interesting since still running Fox suspension.

I think this is spot on. The "concentrated" part makes sense= Focus-ed

Happy to see Innes with a contract, he's a cool dude in my book

Definitely more than a bicycle! That $$$ figure I stated is for a US only team. With 30ish rounds between supercross and outdoors, the team rigs are covering some insane mileage. Something like 80,000/year if I recall correctly.

Anyways... back to rumors!

First one is Ollie Davis to Commencal Schwalbe

Second one is Louise Ferguson to IFR

Third one might be Elliot Heap. Looking at Instagram, Chain Reaction team has been rebranded to Nukeproof SRAM Factory Racing

It has been called the SRAM nukeproof factory racing team for a couple of seasons. No change there

Angels been posting old pics from Commencal too.
A trail bike from another manufacturer would make sense if he will be riding Frameworks for dh. In some of Nekos instagram he had been riding a Jekyll recently.
Is he trying to take over from Jesse as best team rumours thread pro-troll?

Some really interesting info from Kerr. I am really pushing it here, but he specifically says "if there is 800k or 5pounds left at the end of the year, that's what I make as manager", my naive interpretation is that the Pivot factory team budget is around 800k.

He has an absolutely crazy philosophy that he doesn't need to make a budget and review costs, "it is what it what it is", "it's not like I can cut food costs". The whole point of a budget would be to determine whether you can grow or need to reduce the number of riders, or plan for a junior rather than an elite podium contender etc.

Interesting that multiple sponsors (did he specifically say 3?) asked them why they were doing Enduro and to consider stopping. I would understand if they were a mid-pack team, but they have 3 podium contenders, I would think it is great marketing for their enduro bikes and components, even if we can't follow along.

By the way, I just tried to find results, and I mean any results or even ranking on this page: https://ucimtbworldseries.com/results the rankings page is empty because there were no races in 2024... The results pages just links to various events pages that do not have results. wtf

Angel was at Rock Creek two weeks ago picking up his bike. It’s all but confirmed in a press release at this point.

This is the Team Rumors spirit!

I definitely don't know the people, but here are my guesses:

First bike hints towards a Commencal, as I don't know of any other ”French” brand that is in the circuit. Although Commencal are from Andorra, but French enough, I guess.

Was thinking of Radon or Nukeproof for the second one, but Radon doesn't have a team since a while now and I could not find a Scot on Nukeproof, but I am pretty sure the concentrated new team is whatever Intense has going.

The keen fisherman must be the Keswick Kestrel, but the only ”chain” I can think of is Chain Reaction Cycles and they haven't been sponsoring him at any point in his career, plus the team changed its name a while ago. He's been riding Nukeproof frames, but that is something else.

Could some of the hints be, erm, not very precise? :D

Brayton on a Yt.

Gwin famously dropped his chain with YT. Braytons coach is sponsored by YT, and also trains the whole YT factory team.

Close...but, no. Gwins chain less run was on a specialized.

Right at the bottom of the pic you can read in the pizza box "Galicia cali..." It's a quality certification from Galicia, the region in northern Spain where Angel is from. So you know! 🤣

If the rumors are true and YT signs Vali Holl, would they even be able to sign Gwinn with the other riders they currently have as well?

Would love to see Mark Wallace get at least a Single year contract with Forbidden bikes for 2024. He lives on the island and rides with Magnus Manson often so it would be a decent fit.

Magnus I don't think is ready for a world cup season yet due to his health issues so technically there's a spot on the DH team roster. Wallace I cant imagine has a big asking price and hes capable of being top 20 no problem.

Norco kinda did him a dirty with no "goodbye" post or anything (yes I understand they don't have to) but either way...  I have been told Norco management has a hate boner for Forbidden, and if Wallace headed to Forbidden and had some banger results it would be a fun mini side story for the season. The ol' "I'll show you" narrative.

About the "hate": Wasn't the the forbidden engenier working for norco before and trying to design a short travel high pivot bike but got shut. So he swapped brands or released his own with forbidden. Cant remember. Was 2017 or 18.

Not sure if anyone saw but it was revealed in the Wiggle bankruptcy/administration (whatever the blokes call it in the UK) that Sam Hill is listed as a Creditor.  Looks like he's owed about 40k from Nukeproof, not a good look.
