Apparently he was running full wets and it didn't work out for him on a drying track.

Hm, the way he phrased it did they not have 'intermediates' ready on separate wheels in time? Surprised he would commit full wets as long as he did given he would be better in these conditions than most.

Didn’t work for any of the Pivot team outside of Dane Jewett in the Jnr men who is the only team rider to make the finals.

I think he's on a Rallon and not their e-less-e-bike for Enduro. At least that's what it looked like (and what he was racing in Enduro earlier this year).

He was definitely on the motor-removed tweaked ebike for Downhill, though!

It definitely sounds like he's moving on from this team. I wonder if he's going somewhere specific - I'm sure he has a ride by now - or if Orbea is discontinuing racing so was left to find something else.

Oh maybe they put... one of those bike diapers on the normal Rallon for A E R O or something. Thought its bike diaper was an empty motor cover. I feel bad for the enduro guys. Can be winning their races and still be told budget cuts are coming etc. Shitty times.

The other site has a bike check.

Rallon. Size Medium when the chart would suggest a long for him.

Mixed wheel size. 180mm brake rotor up front. 203mm in back.

Why was there so much focus on Tahnee during Finn's run?

They're a couple.

Congrats to Loic on the overall, but you'd have to say that's a pretty good day for Commencal all in all.

Also great to see Reece back up to speed.

Another great race well deserved wins all round.

WBD decision to show Tahnee's reactions during Finn's run showed a real lack of class. Whether they are dating or not has no relevance, it's not a soap opera. They weren't interested in Gaetan's reaction when Myriam was on a winning run. Scraping the barrel, gossip magazine shit.

Punching the air right now seeing elite mens podium. Well played, Kolb. May have swapped you out last second but you had the last laugh.

So are both elite cats overalls wrapped up already or no? They're both WELL ahead. I'm assuming its done and dusted...

I don’t really have an opinion when it comes to inter-rider relationships, ‘good for them’ is as far as I’ll comment.  I was amused at the commentary from the lads on the B-Practice podcast acknowledging the middle-aged male audience, and not knowing whether or not it was newsworthy. But I fully agree with you: no room WHATSOEVER for it in the live broadcast, just like we don’t need a slo-mo of the top part of the run while the rider is still on course. Your point about Myriam shows just how out of balance it was, and the bottom line is that the broadcaster shouldn’t see the racer’s private relationships as added value for the show. Because it’s not.

I hear everyone's points RE "dating and the broadcast". That said, its Sunday so you can watch (American) football pretty much the rest of the day in the US of A. It wouldn't be that out of the ordinary for the broadcast to briefly cut to a shot of the QB's wife/gf etc, especially if she's well known.

Do I want to see this? No. It does nothing for me. I could care less. But I don't think "classless" is the right adjective. I'd go with "cringe".

Funny to hear the complaints.  No one seemed to care when they cut to teammates, Max, team mangers, ect.. but now a GF. No how can you do that

*etc. I've seen plenty of comments about them cutting to team managers during runs (and made one or two myself), especially before it was picture in picture.

Exactly! They are a couple, both are top contenders for a win on any given day, and she crashed out within 20 meters of the spot where Finn crashed 2 hours earlier. The inset video of her reaction was very small relative to the main action on the screen.

It wasn't bad at all, and in fact would be standard practice in damn near every other sporting broadcast globally. In fact, it's even more relevant given that she competed on the same day, on the same track, and literally did the exact same thing!

Super interesting point of view I had not considered. I suppose as long as it serves to add something to the overall story, and doesn't take anything away from what is arguably an inferior product to what we once had, where no romance side story was ever needed.

As long as they keep things to picture-in-picture items instead of cutting away from riders, they could show paint drying for all I care. Just make sure I can see the rider

I hear ya, but it's not like you are missing live action, they are editing and will show anything they want, people reaction and the come back to the part of the run they would have shown anyways... did you not see some slo-mo replays of the rider while the run was still being shown ?
