What's up everyone! I own MTB Enthusiasts of Utah and have had a great opportunity to ride some incredible bikes this year. Thought some of you may be interested in my comparison below:
Yep, I live in good ol' coloRADo. I grew up for the most part in Fruita, riding bmx and got my first real road bike when I was about seven.
I have a lot of bikes. I'm head mechanic at a local shop. I'm also a ski tech.
The quiver is as follows:
Amp
Paradox
Morphine, xtra cycle!
Phantom
77 Raleigh super coarse, fixed
74 Fuji sports 10, time trial fixie
77(ish) Teledyne Titan, restored
A whole bunch of project bikes that come and go, currently restoring an old bridgestone MB-2
I mostly ride mountain, but I've been ripping my fixie bikes for commuting and building up the legs and cadence for several years.
I drink beer! I like to party!
My wheelie record is ten miles.
I do a fair amount of bike packing and have been doing that since before it was cool. I'm still not cool.
Bikes are my lifestyle, so I'm broke. But my rides are all f'n sweet so that's cool.
I live in a cabin down by the river with lots of spiders, my wife a dog a couple cats and a bunch of quail. Told ya I like to party.

It was a long dirt road and a bit uphill. Almost cheating!
Uphill is cheating a little bit on the balance side. But hurts on the endurance side. That's ten miles well earned Sir. I've done a ten mile climb and more, but not all in wheelie.
Just joined VitalMTB here to see what the deal is. Been riding for years and currently own 1 and a half bikes, the half being an unfinished fat bike. From Scotland so ride in all weathers and wherever I want seeing as we have the best land access rights around haha
Here's my noble steed. Can give spec if people want it

My name is Peter, and I am 16 years old and living in San Diego. I have been riding for about 8 years, but I only started riding seriously about 3 years ago. If I had to describe my riding style, I would call it conservative with a good bit of un-coordinatedness mixed in. I don't fall often, but when I do, I tend to fall hard, being why I almost always use a full face helmet. I ride 4-6 times a week (depending on how much school work I have), and love every minute of every ride. For me, climbing/hiking is just a way to get to the downhill (the fun part).
When I'm not riding, in school, or lurking on the forums, I spend a good bit of time coding (Java, Objective C) and building things with Arduinos. My latest project is a telemetry system using ultrasonic sensors, but more on that later.
Anyway, I love the sport and all things involved. Happy trails!
I'm Hayden. Fifteen years old and currently living in Washington. I've been biking for a good 3 years. I mostly ride a 2014 specialized camber comp for mountain biking, a 2016 fit Mac 2 for BMX, and an Eastern Black Betty for dirt jumping.
Hey everyone,
New to this site but very ingrained into this sport. Been riding and racing since 1982, so yes I'm old. Now I ride mostly trail, enduro and some xc, but also race on the road and cyclocross. I live in Big Bear Lake, Ca, which has some pretty good riding as well as a lift serviced bike park.
I come from a manufacturing background and used to own a company called Hurricane Components, which produced seatposts, cranks, brakes and thing called the Fork Up. We even had the first known dropper seatpost called the Elevator Shaft back in 2001. I sold Hurricane and after working as a design engineer for them, I have since left the company and started another company called Exodux, which is currently bringing to market a unique truck bed rack system called the MultiTaskR, which will haul bikes, surfboards, SUPs, kayaks, lumber, ladders, etc.
I will be posting on this site in regards to my cycling addiction as well as new products and product ideas.
Sorry for the long introduction and thanks for taking me into the Vital MTB community.
I'm Steve and i like beer!
32 years old, from Dundee in Scotland, been riding properly for ~19-20 years.
Currently in armed forces, but I think my dream would be to work as a wrench jockey on the world cup circuit, i'd give up everything to hop on a team bus and wrench away, genuinely wouldnt give two hoots about pay, as long as i had enough to live and keep my bike going.
Think I've tryed my hand at most MTB Sub-genres that have popped up in the last two decades, from Cliff hucking to enduro and everything in between, but my heart has always belonged to DH, I'm not fast, i'm not stylish and i'm not particularly bike fit, but i can get a bike down a mountain and i have a laugh doing it.
Dont get nearly enough time to ride bikes these days, due to work, I feel i spend more time talking about bikes, fixing bikes and watching videos of bikes than i do actually riding the damn things, but when i do get time i make the most of it. When I cant ride, I live for being up in the hills, miles from everything, just me and nature.
My favorite type of riding - Rocky steep and technical, i like a section of track that makes me have to think, the type of section where when i first see it i have to stop look at it and think WTF, and then i go back up and pile into it without grace or style holding on by the skin of my teeth only just making it through with my feet on my pedals with no idea how that happened.
Favorite trail... Its hard to ignore Fort William DH track, yeah there sections of other trails that i like more but the complete package definitely has to go to the World Cup track, its got a bit of everything up there.
Whats up everyone new guy here, ive dabbled on your fourms as a lurker for a little bit, im a long standing poster on the brother company vital mx.
Ive wanted to get into mtn biking for a long damn time. My background is bmx/moto now i can offcially add mtb to that list. I hope this community is as good as the moto one lol.
You guys made a good collection and videos happy to see them.I have customized my favorite Downhill MBR bike but it doesn't seems good performance. I really worried. this time, it's so hard to buy a fresh one.
I live in Durango Colorado. Moved to Colorado in 2008 from Vermont where I started riding.
I've been riding for about 20 years off an on. Started with xc, then did some dirt jumping, a bit of downhill type riding, back to xc after college, and typically ride what most consider "all mountain". I've never done a race, and I like to do long epics with big climbs and big descents.
I work a desk job, and ride typically 3-4 times a week.
I own a 2014 Santa Cruz Bronson. I bought it used, because bikes are damn expensive! I like tinkering with setups and changing things around on it.
I backcountry snowboard (splitboard) a ton in the winter, and its split between biking and splitboarding what I like more (toss up now).
Hello all, my name's Lester. Been riding MTB since '86. These days I'm mostly riding '90s rigid steel slowly across the desert, except when I'm in the Portland, OR area where I ride slowly through the woods, and try to get through an STXC race or two. I like to get in an overnight bikepacking ride when possible.
Wyo ride from a few weeks ago:
Guess I'll throw in a pic of current bike. I snapped a dropout on my KHS Comp (the only bike I brought to WY) early this summer, so now riding Walmart 27.5+ I got for $20, and put some parts bin stuff on:
Hello, I'm Logan. I live in Colorado Springs and I'm an avid mountain biker. We have some great single track around here and it seems like I can always find something new to ride locally. I now have some extra free time on my hands and I'm excited to start exploring trails outside of Colorado. If you ever want to ride in the front range, hit me up!
I also have a YouTube channel I'd love for you to check out if you have the time.
Hello there,
My name is Tam and I hail from Cairns, Queensland. I ride a 2016 Norco Range A7.1 but also have keen interests in mountain biking photography and traveling. I am also up for chats with like minded people and taking photos of bikes when I can
Two passions combined? YES.
I'm Hayden. Fifteen years old and currently living in Washington. I've been biking for a good 3 years. I mostly ride a 2014 specialized camber comp...

What part of Washington are you from? I live in the tri-cities.
My name is Craig. I'm a Registered Dietitian/exercise physiologist.
I'm 33 years old. Living in Hemet, Ca.
My passion is cross country mountain biking. Although I love all mountain, down hill, and even road. Being outside is what I love most. Time up in the mountains hitting the trails with my dogs running along by my side. Noting better.
I'm all about racing as well. Working my way more into some road races. I wanna get more competitive doing crits. Most races I've done have been endurance mountain bike races. 12 hours of Temecula is one of my favorites.
Anyway, that's me! I'll be seeing you all on the forum!
Albert aka albequick, 50 year man with a pretty sweet bulls enduro e bike, still a punk kid on a mongoose with tuf wheels, at heart. Basically just love riding, everything! If rolls glides or slides I want to try it. I'm broke down from the knees down, I've got braces so I can walk and I can get myself on a bike and pedal so my new ebike makes me "feel" fast again. I came across your blog when I was researching e mountain bikes, not much info this side, of the pond. Like your blog alot, thanks
-I grew up in NW Florida, loved to skateboard, surf, ride BMX (never raced), and ride/race motocross
-We didn't have much in the way of mountains near us so I really wasn't into MTB until about 1994.....and it was more of "offroad biking" than mountain biking
-Got married and we had a boy and all my past times, ALL of them were removed from my life
-After the divorce I bought another KX250 and rode for a few more years, moving to NE Georgia in the process
-Landed a great job travelling the US and the world doing some of the most awesome work with some of the largest cranes there are (I really wish I had been more into MTB back then)
-I got a Giant Rainier in '01 and rode XC for a bit but just didn't make it enough of a priority
-My son turned 14 and his mom hinted at him being allowed to ride dirt bikes so I got him one......and I needed one for us to ride together, right?
-I convinced my wife (I was 39) and I was back in the game with another KX250 (2 stroke for life, lol). I got faster than I had ever been....but at 44 I had to get out, the speed and some of the jumps were getting to be too much (we just don't bounce back or heal up as quick at this age).......well, and a concussion I got in a hard get-off was a wake up call
-After I "retired" from motocross (because no one likes a quitter) I lost my drive to keep working out and got big
-So after turning 50 a few weeks ago I was in the search for the right road bike......and out no where I became obsessed with riding MTB, so here I am
I still have the Giant and have a Novara Aspen, not really that great but it gets me around the flat trails here in SE Texas.......until I rebuild the Giant. Going with 1x10 Sram and upgrading the pretty good mech. discs to hydraulic. Just love the bike and don't want to see it end up in a land fill or anything wasteful. I'll always have a hard tail but am looking to get a full suspension trail/enduro bike and do some of the enduro races here in Texas.
I just love going fast, railing corners, and air.......going to have to build up on the MTB, they just don't seem to handle in the air like a dire bike does and I'll have to get used to that for sure. Sorry for the long winded rant but I'm just a goofy old fart......
Bonus points for anyone that can name the guy I'm with in the last photo....
"I spent my early teens riding BMX at the local skate park. Some young lad called Danny used to show up now and then and kick our arse. Not sure whatever happened to him"
Not danny mackaskill right??! :D
