No Richie Rude on there... does that mean he definitely won't be racing any World Cups? Could he still do World Champs?

Dont know about world cups, but id be willing to bet my house on him racing the champs. He just has to make the USA team, which depending on their criteria could be as simple as "Richie, we know you'll do well so you're on the team regardless"
i get confused by all the rules and criteria, but if richie has no UCI or USAC DH points/races, can he even be considered? i know he'd crush it, especially cairns, but there a lot of U.S. riders on the world cup circuit now.

maybe if richie races US national champs and does well enough, that would count for selection? a quick check indicates there's a break in the EWS calendar for national champs at snowshoe WV (july 19-23). an east coast race, richie would do well enough, i'd imagine. i'd love to see him at worlds and an SB6 w/ a 40 on it wouldn't be the worst thing at cairns, would it?

"Hart and Greenland are joined by two other riders familiar with the top step of the podium, former women´s world champion Emmeline Ragot and former European champion Markus Pekoll."

"Hart, Greenland, Ragot and Pekoll will find Shimano Saint components adorning their full carbon downhill Mondraker Summum 27.5 Stealth frames."

Am I reading this right, Emmeline Ragot back racing? Please say yes

I'm with you. I don't want to diss the EWS as it's a completely different animal, but Richie looks like he's in a class of his own at the moment. I'd love to see him racing against Gwin, Hart etc & see where he'd come against them

More team news today as 17-year old, overnight sensation Emil Johansson lands a big ride on Trek C3:

Trek’s marquee gravity program continues to develop new talent

(Waterloo, WI) — For years, The C3 Project has driven progression in mountain biking, delivering the most awe-inspiring freeride and slopestyle performances the world over. As the 2017 season approaches, new and returning members are looking to double down on their success. Moving forward, The C3 Project will focus on competitions, producing the most exciting film segments in the sport, and continuing to push the creative envelope wherever possible.

Brandon Semenuk, Brett Rheeder, Cam McCaul, Ryan Howard, and Tom Van Steenbergen return to the program for 2017 under the guidance of mountain bike legend Andrew Shandro. 2016 brought memorable standout performances from the team, including a Crankworx Whistler Slopestyle win from Brett and Redbull Rampage win from Brandon. This year, look for the riders at classic events like Crankworx and Red Bull Rampage, as well as in new videos released throughout the season.

This year, The C3 Project welcomes Swedish breakout performer Emil Johansson to the team. Emil proved that he is ready for the next level with a strong 4th place finish in slopestyle at Crankworx Whistler. Hailing from the town of Trollhattan, but living in Falun, the 17-year-old is confident for 2017. Emil is looking forward to expanding on his momentum from 2016, and riding with such a seasoned group of athletes:

“Honestly, I am speechless to be on the same team as my favourite riders. It´s something I didn't think I could accomplish. One year ago, I didn't even have a FMB license and now I am here, riding for my dream bike sponsor! I couldn't be happier.”

Find Emil on Instagram at @johanssoemil. Look for the C3 team at major events, and follow them on Instagram at @c3project. The new home of racing at Trek is racing.trekbikes.com, where you’ll find photo albums, the latest videos, and rider profiles and stories about all of Trek’s athletes.

Seems Brock was like a squeaky wheel, make enough noise and it will get seen too.

I doubt its anything to different but am prob wrong, GT make alloy bikes so I'm surprised they have not been making different variants anyways if the rumour he didn't like the bike was true.

I'm guessing maybe a Geo change and a slightly different shock position only time will tell.

Hopefully no more iDrive, just a regular single pivot

Saw Wyn today on the bike. Rear shock was mounted more at a 45 degree downward angle to the down tube rather than straight across as before. Didn't see anything else.

It seems very easy to still incorporate some kind of iDrive based on the pivot and BB position.

Also, the shock position is very logical based on the picture.

Toni Ferreiro to Merida Bikes in 2017. The two times spanish enduro champion and privateer of the year in 2016, who finished 27º in the EWS Overall Rakings, including a 4th place in the EWS of Bariloche (where he also won the 4th special) will not race the two first rounds of the ews in New Zeland and Tasmania. Hopefully he will smash the following rounds, with a bit more of luck than past year

Saw Wyn up at Skyline Queenstown yesterday riding this, at the quick look I got I think it has a slightly different linkage and the wheels looked quite big....

The shock does look, indeed, in a more 45º-ish degree position.

A more rising rate. Curious about the wheel size.

Well,I have to be honest...I think that new Norco bike looks awful, seems like Norco tried to hard this time.

Na. With the right paint I'm buying one.

It seems very weird to me that they didn't join the swingarm triangle under the main pivot the the 'dropdown' for the linkage...
