Off the Cuff - Greg Minnaar 7

Corner the best downhill mountain bike racer of all time, force him into his car and see what kind of questions he'll answer.

A few days ago on a trip to the Northern California to visit Santa Cruz Bikes and FOX, I was told that Greg Minnaar, the winningest World Cup Downhill racer of all time, was in town. I have known Greg for a while now, having the pleasure and honor of being one of the Honda MTB team photographers in 2004, but I'm always star-struck by him. We've bumped into each other on occasion at various events and I've played it cool, but he's a legend in our community. Through some coaxing with a free sushi lunch from the crew at FOX, I was able to corner Greg and get a candid interview with him before we had to part ways. Greg's podium list is impressive, but he's also a smart, hard worker with a vision for his success, not to mention he's a really nice guy to boot. Enjoy!
