New Brunswick's Gem for Mountain Biking - Finding Flow in the Acadian Forest 6

Prior to moving west, Vital member, plarseneau, created this short edit to celebrate the community he was leaving behind.

A few months prior to moving out to Beautiful British-Colombia, to allow myself to escape the harsh New-Brunswick's winters, the fine people at VÉLO Ski Bike Trail shop in Moncton, New-Brunswick requested that I create something that would showcase the potential for great mountain biking in the Maritimes. With the help of my dear friend Craig Norris, award winning filmmaker and avid mountain biker/adventurer, we came up with the idea to create this short movie called "The State Of Flow", in reference to the flow state that the highest tides in the world of the Bay of Fundy create along the Acadian forest's coastline.

With the short summers and riding seasons we get on the east coast, we kept pushing this project further and further into the season in order to enjoy every sunny day on the bike or on the water. When I eventually decided to make the move out West, we knew that we had no time to spare. Between packing up my van to head out and saying goodbye to my friends and family, we managed to pull it together and create this short movie in the last 3 days I was in N-B.

The reality is, what makes a great place to ride bikes has little to do with the terrain or the weather, but a lot to do with the community that backs it up. With efforts from organizations like MTB Atlantics and bike shops like VÉLO, that community is growing exponentially by the minute on the East coast of Canada.

This project couldn't have been possible without the help of VÉLO Ski Bike Trail, Craig Norris VideoBand, Paul Dupuis on the animations, Jean-Luc Saulnier on the follow cam and the countless hours of trail building efforts done by the local MTB community.
