Another custom build from Marino in Peru. Rides very aggressively, the harder you push it the more it gives back.. still climbs 'aight, if not a little slow in tight corners. Definitely held back by suspension travel & not geometry.. kind of wish I upped the rear travel to 150mm. Very fun to ride!

From memory the frame on it's own without shock, BB, & headset was approx 3.8KG, or 4.2KG with 200x57 DVO Topaz shock installed. I believe the hardtail frames are around 3 to 3.5KG

Nice one. I have been dreaming on the Marino website about creating my own single pivot destroyer. Only concern is getting the correct suspension tune and painting.

Ordering process was fairly lengthy, mainly due to me changing things however. Frame from first order to delivery was about 3 months. No issues with alignment, was good to go out of the box & is still riding as well as when first built!

Yep, as Adventure Time said $530 plus $100 shipping for the frame only. I also added a couple extras so the total was US$680. Add on all the other parts & it comes to approx $6400 AUD for the spec as listed (using new prices), though I did buy some parts secondhand so actual would be less.

Very solid! Super fun on the descents, loves being leant over to carve around the berms. Fair bit of pedal bob on the climbs with the shock open, but the climb switch mostly negates that & the steep seattube makes it handle well on the climbs.

What I eventually did was take the geo of a Smuggler and Stumpy EVO and kind of combine them which seems to have worked well. Getting the shock set up was actually pretty straight forward, ended up settling with 4 volume bands in the Topaz and around 155psi - I am pretty lgight though at 75kg. The frame is definitely very linear, was considering changing to a coil, but i'm not sure it'd work very well, even with a progressive spring. I would definitely recommend getting a shock with a climb switch too, the single pivot loves to bob when pedalling but the climb switch mostly sorts that out.

Thanks for the response. Some tuners may do a good coil tune, so it may be an option if I find the right tuner. I consider 150-160 with 160-170 fork 29-er with a pole-ish geo with a bit shorter chainstays.
