Hi, I have the same frame size large 29.

Have you notice any inclination to nose dive on jumps?

I also have a Norco Sight 2014 27.5 and that jumps perfectly.

I have a general idea on how to set suspension, but nothing I have tried worked so far. 
The Carbonda is a monster on downhills but hell I got some close calls on that bike, mostly on lip jumps, tables, etc. Stuff that on my other bike is piece of cake.

Hi! The reason is price - they are cheap and actually DT Swiss clone with ratchet.
