Big Bear Resort in California Opens to E-Bikes 7

While not every trail on the mountain is accessible by e-bike, the resort has made a step in allowing class-1 bikes.

Southern California's premier mountain bike park will now be accessible to e-bikes. Big Bear Mountain Resort has received approval from the U.S. Forest Service to allow class 1 pedal-assist electric mountain bikes (e-bikes/e-mtb) on a number of trails at the Summit Bike Park.

For more information and a full list of trails e-bikes will be permitted on, click here.

The Summit Bike Park is now open daily, guests are expected to follow the COVID-19 procedures in place, practice social distancing and wear a face covering.

Snow Summit Bike Park (SS BP)
I was just at Snow Valley Bike Park and they are in the process of getting eMTB access approved by the USFS.

I guess I will be the first. This makes no sense. They are allowed on the trails that require very little pedalling.

By some other logic, it makes more sense because the thing that makes an ebike special doesn’t really mean anything If it’s only going downhill. Although personally I can’t come to terms with ebikes.

Any above avg rider on a Enduro or Downhill rig should be faster at a bike park, then any eMTBer. There should be no ego issue with the MTBers.
