It's hard to write an introduction for someone like Aaron Gwin. He's so accomplished in the world of downhill mountain biking, that there's almost no point to it. I've been fortunate enough to know Aaron since early on in his mountain bike career, meeting him in 2009 in Colorado for the first time. Since then we've had our annual interviews, bike checks and catch-up sessions during the off-season. And while my Inside Line interview with Aaron hit the same yearly mark on the calendar, I learned a lot about him that I didn't know before, like the fact that he's taking singing lessons and has diverse music tastes. There are plenty of nuggets of wisdom and surprise from one of downhilling's fastest humans. I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did. -spomer
Photos I shot with Aaron from Keith Darner's ranch in Colorado circa 2009.
Scrub to the 2-minute mark to see Gwin shred the 20-inch some years ago.
