I’m between xl or xxl , I am 6’4”…how is the feel, any feedback would be great! Thank you

I have found that a XXL works best for me with a 50mm stem and a specific stack height. I have come to learn that stack height is just as important as my reach, I am 6'7, I would say ride both and see what you think, I did not think I needed a XXL until I rode one and it was life changing

I tired both Xl and xxl.

the Xl had a 35mm stem, full stack stem spacers, was nimble and fun, yet at times felt under me. At speed it was a bit twitchy but not out of control. Felt good, Bronson feels.

xxl was noticeably longer, but surprisingly I can throw it about fine and I liked the feel still, and generally okay on reach and stack. I think I’ll change the stem to a short one. I did think my arms were too laid out on the bigger frame, yet on descents it was grounded and I think it worked my busy position into the bike more which was really interesting being more in the bike position…and I didn’t notice the bike riding me thankfully. Though a linger feel , I did feel more confident with the xxl, and I think my body appreciated it at the end of the session. I’ve been told that I’ll have a better long term experience on the bigger bike.

i am 6’4” and long arms and legs. Perhaps over the years I’ve ridden too small bikes.

Really appreciate your time! Almost their on my decision.

You are welcome, bike sizing is tough its much like touch points on bikes everyone has their own preferences and also riding style. That Trek I had was a XL and reach was within 5mm of my SC bikes but the stack was 20 or 30mm shorter and it ended up putting too much of my weight forward and messed up my ridding posture and I ended up getting rid of the bike due to the stack issue, it was a hard way for me to learn stack and reach are super important for me and my ridding style, I would go the next size up but I am not the best to say that since I was ridding too small of a bike until I rode a XXL. You could speak to the shop and see if they know of a good bike fitter to see if that would help

I demo both sizes, and I’m on the middle of both on the brands site, yet I have to listen to my style of riding.
 

i like to be agile in general and less bothered about climbing abd ling days, so on the decents I noticed that the xxl felt just too large to get into the feel. The xxl was so much more to handle on jumps too, and less maneuverable.

even though the xl may be a little on the edge at speed, i benefit from being able to move the bike and that’s the trade off.

I’ll adjust the stack and add maybe even a 45mm rise bar on the xl. 
guess no bike is going to be perfect , but I can find a happy place with some adjustments.

Next up, change the dampners on the lyric fork too…let you know how I go!

It is on the list to do, I have not yet I did a coil rear shock right before the end of the riding season last year. Want to see how it rides with the new coil before I fully make up my mind. I tend to over fork my SC by 10mm in the front.
