Additional Info

This is the Struggler, a full suspension aluminum mountain bike that I welded during an internship at Frank The Welder's shop. I found time to design this between tasks and during my downtime at home. The pivots and BB were machined in house and the tubes were a mix of spare parts from the shelves in Frank's shop, and tubes and raw material from the scrap bin.

The reach is 485, the chainstay is 430 with a BB drop of 30mm. The seat angle is a steep 83 degrees and the head angle is  a modest 65 degrees. The Front has 150mm of travel while the rear has 130-145 depending on the amount of shock stroke and the configuration of the lower shock mount.

This bike was designed to be ridden on the local XC trails while having the capability to let loose at a downhill park. This bike is set to race in the DHSE to see what its capable of. I'm sure the bike is more capable than i am.

Everything about this bike is totally custom. With the Float DPS i usually have installed, its got a custom tune and more negative air volume for mid stroke support. The geometry can be adjusted with the lower shock mounts. Theres 3D printing all over this bike from the shock spacers, to volume spacers in the fork, to the brake levers.
