First Look: Devinci's 160mm Spartan Enduro Race Bike 4

Devinci Cycles is proud to introduce the Spartan, a 160mm travel bike designed to meet the needs of Enduro racers and aggressive trail riders.

Devinci’s Spartan was inspired by the custom bike Steve Smith first raced at the 2013 Downhill World Championship in South Africa, but changes throughout make the Spartan more suited to Enduro race use.

The frame has features similar to several of Devinci’s bikes, including Split Pivot suspension, a carbon seatstay, and adjustable geometry via the rear shock mount. Compared to Smith’s one-off project bike, the move to a single carbon seatstay structure adds rear end stiffness and lowers the weight of the frame. While the front triangle and seatstays are hand welded in Canada, the carbon seat stays are produced in Taiwan.

In the low position, the bike has a 65.8-degree headtube angle, 17-inch (432mm) chainstays, and 13.27-inch (337mm) bottom bracket height.

The Spartan will be available with three complete builds designated XP, RC, and RR. All models come equipped with a RockShox Pike fork, Monarch Plus RC3 rear shock, Schwalbe Hans Dampf Super Gravity tires, and a shred-ready cockpit with 780mm wide handlebars. The XP weighs 33.25-pounds (15.08kg, size Medium), and the RR 30.12-pounds (13.66kg, size Large). A 1x11 drivetrain option is also available in the RR model, in addition to the specs shown below.
