Because these are high end, high priced parts. It's possible that a composite version could be offered in the future. But for now they're going to sell as many $100+ pedals as they can. A composite TMac would be amazing. But I bet it will never happen.

Just got the Dagga pedals and like them a lot! Only two rides on them so far so don’t know about durability. I ride the Sam Hill Five Ten shoes and the the two work really well together.

Because composite pedals are consumable. The one up broke in half after like 2 weeks. It’s a shame, the grip was fantastic (as was the replacement policy).

Buy nice or buy twice.

I really dig the feel of these pedals and the pins are definitely huuuuge. However, I have a problem with the small shelf where the pins thread in from the backside. Similar to the DMR pedals, the thickness of the metal on that shelf is too thin and bends super easy if you drag a pin across a rock or root. Eventually that shelf becomes so mangled that you cant even get pins in or out of them.

Hey Shawn,

Thanks for the feedback. The "shelf" on the Dagga pedals is 4mm thick and have yet to see a case of a bent shelf. It should also be noted that the Dagga has 4 pins on each pedal that thread into the "shelf".

We're currently testing the Dagga here at Vital, with excellent results so far! Still can't drift like Chris though...

It may not look like much, but to see him come down that chute at Squaw Valley in the old race video where he had his 1st Worlds podium behind Nico/The Alien in 2nd....that was the epitomy of flat pedal, full metal. Him, Rennie & Sam just blew the doors off the DH world. Kovarik & Rennie were animals. Still haven't seen riders as brutally powerful on a bike and yet as precise and talented at smoothing out the hardest things like those two.
I've switched over to flats for the fall/winter slip & slide winter like I do every year and now that I'm on these HUGE pinned Nukeproof Horizons similar to the Daggas, I only want to race in my clipless. Trail riding on flats is just too much fun to clip in on most rides unless it's gonna be a seat up pedal fest.

Wasted a couple winters on stuff like Xpedo's and Canfield Crampons. Sure...they seem grippy because of stealth rubber soles, but the taller pins on the 2 above make for some truly awesome grip!
