Loris Vergier takes his first World Cup DH win in Andorra and he did it aboard this Santa Cruz V10cc with 29-inch wheels. The Santa Cruz Syndicate first launched these new bikes at the race in Fort William and both Loris and Luca have had some solid results on the machines. Today, Loris took it to the top. The front and rear triangles are carbon and production-ready, but the linkages are custom as they're sorting out specifics before the bike goes public. Loris and the team are running Maxxis tires with a prototype Breaker construction. The center zone of the tire is beefed up slightly (adds 50g per tire) for durablity, flat resistance and damping control as a solution to avoid the need for tire inserts. The tires are mounted to Santa Cruz carbon rims built on Chris King hubs. FOX suspension, Shimano Saint / XTR drivetrain and Burgtec cockpit round out the build. Loris runs his brake levers extremely flat (basically parallel to the ground) and on the steep courses, this lever position helps keep the body centered, if not off the rear of the bike for control.
