The ghetto fix. You know you've done it. We all have. They range from JB Weld bandaids to zip tie chainguides and "I wonder if this will fit there" contraptions. Some are ingenious. Some not so much...

Two for me: tubeless valves cut out of old tubes and I made an old roller and front mech into a full single ring chain device using the limit screws on the mech.

I once did a Big Bear National race with a massive crack under my head tube. I JB'd the hell out of it and wrapped a whole roll of duct tape around it just in case it failed.

I've got a rear mech made from an xt shadow, a 105 road mech, and some jockey wheels from an old chain guide, a 6 speed cassette made from a few i had lying around and some bb spacers. I've made the shock bushes fit by attacking them with a drill and dremel. I've got a home made compression mod on my chris king headset to lower the stack height....

Did the single speed fix-it on my bike when I broke my derailleur hanger while on a trail ride once. Haven't tried the stick for a rear shock solution though.
