It's well known that Gwin likes his supension setup "stiffer" than most other racers but, "stiffer" in what way? Higher spring rates? More compression damping? If so, high speed, low speed or both? All of the above? Just curious.

i don't think he likes to go into detail about it...secrecy is speed, right? i know when i've tried to squish his bike, just standing around, the fork didn't do much moving and i was putting all of my tubby body into it.

Oh yeah, certainly not expecting anything in detail, more of a general idea, curious as to what other readers thoughts were. For instance, seeing his bike in person it should be possible to get a peak at the spring on his shock. Even if the specs were erased you could kind of estimate based on the number of coils i'd imagine. My guess is it's setup with alot of damping and maybe a little higher than normal spring rate.

Number of coils doesn't matter. It's the thickness of the coils that changes the spring rate. He ran a 400 spring on his Yeti, but that was a 3" stroke shock. Should be just below 500 on a Session to be the same.
