After qualifying 1st on Friday, Luca was the last to come down the mountain. Right before entering the whoop section before the high-speed Red Bull ravine, he managed to get a pedal stroke in and when he did his chain broke and locked up his rear wheel sending him over the bars. He cleared the whoops in the air, off the bike, hurling down the track. It was bad, but he got back on the bike and rolled into the finish, threw his fist up to a roaring crowd and crossed the line. The most crushing part about it all was that he was up at the split. Luca was shaken up but thankfully OK, and that's the important part. #healingvibes
