The new 6D ATB-1A all-mountain helmet uses the same Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) system as their full face helmets. Fitting the ODS system into a half-shell presented a challenge, as they didn’t want the size of the helmet to be too large and bulky. The system is designed to reduce angular acceleration energy transfer by the 3-dimensional displacement capability of small rubber pieces that bend and flex between the outer shell and inner layer. The helmet will be available in Spring 2016 and exceeds several safety standards.
