CamelBak’s new Crux reservoir boasts 20% more water per sip compared to their old design. CamelBak was able to increase the rate at which water flows out of the tube by simply moving to a slightly larger tube and a wider angle at the bite valve.
The Crux also features a new handle for filling the bladder and continues to use CamelBak’s single turn cap with some minor modifications to improve the tread pitch for easier use.
The Crux will be available this October in 2 and 3 liter sizes with more on the way. Also new from CamelBak is the Quick Stow Chill collapsible bottle system. These bottles are made from the same material as CamelBak’s reservoirs and also incorporate the same insulation as found in their Podium Chill bottles. Riders looking to ditch the pack may find these quite useful as they pack up tightly after you drink the water.
