Aluminum frame. Is this because he prefers the aluminium over carbon, or because carbon is not available for this platform?

Quicker process to develop/change the frame on an aluminium bike, as this is still in theory a working prototype. Long term Specialized will most likely go back to carbon, however for the time being their latest statement around the use of aluminium was they/the riders were happy with the performance/stiffness of the aluminium structure
