The tubeless ready rims on these Syntace wheels measure a whopping 28.5mm wide internally and 35mm outside, making them a good match for high volume tires. You may be surprised to learn that the 26-inch version weighs in at 1585 grams a set, which is very good regardless of the rim material being used. 28 Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes hold each wheel together and are laced to Syntace's 7075 aluminum HiTorque MX hubs. The hubs use a refined spur gear mechanism (bottom right), which is said to drastically improve engagement over the standard pawl system. They're available in a 29er version, too. Expect them to go for $1200.
