The void of impending doom looms large ahead of Sam Hill of Monster Specialized. The *huck to flat,* as it is now officially named, is where Sam's race for victory ended today. The insane scrub he'd been doing off the drop all weekend proved too much at full race pace in finals. In Sam's own words at the finish: 'I am just glad to be alive.'
