Yeah, you read that right. This Pivot Phoenix Carbon weighs in at just 30.8 pounds (14kg)! That's with a very sensible build, too.
How'd they pull it off? We caught up with Chris Cocalis, the Founder of Pivot Cycles, to find out. Listen in on our conversation for all the details, including how they kept the frame weight to just 8.1 pounds with a coil shock.
First introduced at Sea Otter 2014, the Phoenix Carbon is now available. The frame retails for $3,299 with a shock. Two complete builds are available at $5,499 and $7,399. The higher end complete build weighs 33.5 pounds, taking the coveted title of "lightest production downhill bike." While the build shown here may not be available as a complete, it certainly shows you the potential.
