Considering racers have been practicing in bone dry and dusty conditions, the rain that began right at the beginning of qualifying threw a wrench in a lot of plans. At the moment it looks like the rain may hold off for the race and with amateurs and pros both practicing the same track it may return to being dry and dusty possibly favoring the west coast racers.
