Prevelo does a good job building and specing real kids bikes, with size-appropriate parts throughout. They sweat the details, like a UDH dropout, integrated headset, and 19 mm handlebars to allow you to spec thinner grips. They sell direct, and you can specify different upgrades like tubeless tires when you order.
