I'm still scratching my head as to why DH World Cup racers don't run the Hopey Steering Damper with just how flat out, wide open courses are.

My personal thought is that fork angles are too steep trying to compensate for what the damper would do.  Slackening out so much I don't think is the answer.  Moving back to a 63 or 64 degree & using a damper would seem more logical.

Watching guys getting the bars ripped out of their hands on that off camber where the one snapped his bars looks like the perfect reason to run a Hopey.
