Brian Lopes took his Intense Carbine 29 to victory at the VP EnduroFest at China Peak this past weekend. He chose the 29er over his Intense Tracer 275 to handle some of the pedaly sections and holes better.
You may have seen Brian's Bike vs. Bike feature, but since then he's upgraded the Carbine with an upside-down fork - the X-Fusion Revel HLR. The Paul Turner-designed Revel uses a patented system that prevents twisting, features a 20mm thru-axle and gets 140mm of travel in the 29er version (27.5 version goes to 160mm). The fork weighs 4.5-pounds and has 34mm stanchions, dual air-spring design and the X-Fusion Roughcut HLR damper.
