Hey SSpomer. My friend Joey Hayes always refused to shoot crashes. He would have stopped shooting after that point or maybe before. What are your thoughts on the subject?

i'm the same way. when video or photo, if i see something going wrong, my reaction is usually to pull the camera from my face to watch. if i've captured crashes, i rarely post or use them. at a place like rampage i think it's a bit different where there are a ton of crashes and only a few really bad ones. but then, there's gee's MSA crash from last year which we posted here and i think was pretty eye-opening, especially since we had gee's commentary to go with the crash. it showed how brutal mtb can be. it's a fine line i guess. when it becomes a matter of posting gratuitous crash/slam photos or vids, i think that's kinda lame. my "haha" reaction to the photo above is more about the position of the rider. it's amazing the positions riders find themselves in...and often pull off.

I'm with Spomer, having been on the receiving end of a gnarly crash, there's no need to glorify it, there's nothing cool about hard slams and I don't need to see them in photos.

Had she been seriously hurt I wouldn't have posted it, but she got up and was fine. The full sequence was nutty, it went from this, to manual, to slam.

I think it's interesting to see "freeze-frames" like this to see how badly we torque our equipment!
