The RockShox BoXXer RC is the base model BoXXer fork, featuring 8-inches of travel and external rebound and low-speed compression adjustments. At 2,882 grams and $865, it's very competitive in the weight and price game. Those seeking greater performance have the option to upgrade to a Charger Damper. Out of the box, we're impressed by the stiction-free feel of the fork considering the cost.

"For a fork to get the BoXXer name we feel that it needs to share the ride characteristics with its race bred bigger brothers, the Team and World Cup. To achieve this every BoXXer fork shares the same chassis (crowns, upper tubes, lower legs and axle). This leaves the internals as the key difference in cost of the product. In BoXXer RC we use the Motion Control IS damping system. We have been producing Motion Control for a long time and have refined the manufacturing and supply chain significantly over time to be able to produce a great damper at an affordable price. On the spring side we remove some the bottoming control features and parts that the Team has, again to further reduce price." - Duncan Riffle, RockShox
