Damien Douglas and Dylan Bibbins head south from Seattle to Hood River, swooped up myself and my three legged dog Piedy. First stop was the new skatepark in Bingen, WA.
Dylan was killing the hip @ Bingen. It was such a fun spot to shoot, every angle had a different backdrop as you can see in the photos. These are all on the same hip.
We rolled south to Bend, Oregon for a quick stop at The Lair where Damien busted out some nasty tucks.
After sleeping at a rest area in the van (classy, I know) we had an obligatory safety meeting at the Weed Skatepark in Norcal. We had the place to ourselves for a couple hours and Mt. Shasta even made a cameo.
We were hungry for sun so we drove through the night to San Diego (Whales Vagina...) and followed the gun shots to the legendary Home Ave.
We seshed the hip, loitered the tunnels and watched bums. It was rad.
Just as we rolled up to Clairemont Skatepark, it started raining lightly and they shut 'er down. Luckily my nicotine habit led to meeting a local named Nick and he took us to a sketchy one-hit booter down the street. Big, scary and fun. Damien was gettin' sideways and Dylan was turnin' down his high performance mountain bicycle. Our tour guide Nick also got a shot blasting a one-foot table on the worst jump for a brakeless 20-inch.
We know how to get down at a 7-11. We loaded up on candy and Arizonas and camped near the beach that night. We chilled on the beach most of the next day and then rolled east to the suburbs in search of some trails.
Rancho San Diego had two sets of trails a mile from each other. The Fury trails were the first stop and super legit. The light was dialed but disappearing fast when we got there but the guys figured it out real quick. Damien gettin' tucked and sideways with Dylan in tow.

The other set of trails were real small but super flowy and fun. We threw a quick chill edit together.
...and we also grabbed some stills.
The rain rolled in hard and we made a last minute decision to head out to Da' Compound for some covered ramps and a brief dirt sesh. That place is loaded.
I have no idea what we did after Da' Compound but the next day we were in Aptos to #occupypostoffice for a few days. We slept in the parking lot, partied with the neighbors and ran into MTB's favorite couple Jimmy and Tammy Donahue, who let us #occupytheirhouse on last year's trip.

Dylan and Damien entered some am jam and didn't advance due to being too smooth and steezy. We then drank A LOT of tequila with a local named Jorge.
Dumb and Dumber got their choreographed tweakers on for my pixels. I love this shot even though they are headless.
Reno is always fun. Hacksaw gave us the tour and got some bangers himself. He was killing it on his 20 and MY 26. 'Saw has skillz. We're defiently going back to "Biggest Little City."
We were pretty burnt after Reno and definitely not smelling too good, so we rallied back to Hood River and chilled hardcore for the night. Bert and Ernie were ready to roll home, but I sweet-talked them into hitting this ghetto wallride I had been eyeing for a minute...It worked out pretty good.

I was not sober while editing this but convinced myself I like it. (Ed's note: I LOVE IT!)
It was an amazing trip. As your attorney I advise you to always GET IN THE VAN. Can't wait till next year. Cheers.

This past spring we got in a minivan with over 300,000 miles on it and headed south with no plan. We just wanted some sunshine and new spots to ride. This was our second trip together. Enjoy 14 days of dirtbaggery.
