I've been saying it for weeks now. Don't be surprised to see some unfamiliar faces and names on the top steps of the podium at these races. Alex Cure from URGE bike takes the win today on his Yeti. -Sven Martin
Anne Caroline Chausson beat more than a handful of guys. She was 67th out of about 400 guys and gals. She rode on the wettest course and in the worse conditions. Style and speed for miles! -Sven Martin
Today's stage began up here and ended down there. -Sven Martin
This pic is in for the usual crew of caption punters. What do you think is hiding under Fabien Barel's shock condom? Apparently it's going to be a work in progress over the next few years. -Sven Martin
Old dog still got some bite in him that is for sure. A young, energetic, powerful and positive Cedric Gracia tied for 3rd today. -Sven Martin
Sharing that 3rd place is a 16 year old. Atherton Racing's young Martin Maes attacked the short, risky power stage. Expect to see lots more of him. -Sven Martin
Nicolas Vouilloz, clean and precise as always. When your tire sidewalls match your custom one off TLD kit, you know you have arrived. -Sven Martin
Never too old to be hip. Santa Cruz's Rob Roskopp is out here for some riding, watching his team and plays a role as an advisory member of EMBA which keeps an eye on how the events are running. -Sven Martin
Josh Bryceland would rather be in the gym than racing this enduro? Hit up Roskopp for a place on the Syndicate as Ratboy's seat-filler! -Photo courtesy of SuperEnduro
Yep, we are in Italy. -Sven Martin
Cube bike with round wheels in a city square. -Sven Martin
Olde World meets neon and Lycra. -Sven Martin
GoPros on a stick are a photographer's biggest gripe usually. But iPads aloft take it to a new level. -Sven Martin
Jerome Clementz's rotor threw sparks as it brushed the wall a milli-second later. Maximize your trail. -Sven Martin
Slippery slabs of cement and cobbles made for a couple close calls today. -Sven Martin
Though current DH World Champ Greg Minnaar is focused on the upcoming World Cup season, he will be racing with intensity on Sunday. Photo courtesy of SuperEnduro
There was plenty of dirt riding today before the Prologue. Have a gander at Dan Atherton's prototype. I'm sure the good internet engineers can calculate BB height, head angle and wheelbase from this shot. -Sven Martin
You can take Dan out of DH but you can't take the DH out of Dan. #650B and never enough photos of Affy. Dan was 2 seconds back on the Prologue today. -Sven Martin
Al Stock feeling like he is back in New Zealand where he spent his *winter* building trails. Stage 3. -Sven Martin
Curtis Keene, to everyones surprise, is electing to use his Stumpy EVO 29 not the Enduro. He says the Stumpy is more-than-capable and will be lighter for the long day of pedaling. Details matter. -Sven Martin
Lots of jumping to be had on the trails today. -Sven Martin
So long urban setting, hello day of racing in the woods! -Sven Martin
Awesome. -Photo courtesy of SuperEnduro
The Enduro World Series logo was out during todays Prologue and that's a good omen. Stay tuned for the full pull from race day! -Sven Martin
