Foot Out, Flat Out! First Look at Specialized's New 2FO Shoes

<b>After years of development and testing, Specialized is pleased to introduce their Foot Out, Flat Out (2FO) shoe collection.</b>

<b>The Slipnot rubber compound is a result of lots of testing and help from the Specialized tire team.</b>

<b>Flats or clips? The 2FO comes in both styles, with rubber tailored to meet the needs of each.</b>

<b>2FO Clip features a dual durometer sole tuned to make clipping in and out easier.</b>

<b>The hexagonal tread pattern is tight in the pedal zone to provide consistent feel and uses a more open pattern in the toe and heel for off the bike traction.</b>

<b>Pedal grip and durability were a big focus for the 2FO Flat shoe.</b>

<b>A directional “sharkskin” profile provides added grip when riding with dropped heels.</b>

<b>Rounded edges of the outsole and cleat pocket help make clip entry easier. The 3/4 nylon plate is dropped into the EVA sole providing impact absorption and flex for hiking.</b>

<b>The “Landing Strip” design uses a firmer durometer rubber and low-profile tread design.</b>

<b>Riders coming from flats to clips will appreciate the extended cleat slot that allows for a rearward cleat position.</b>

<b>2FO uses an injection molded toe bumper that protects riders against anything from rock strikes to trail obstacles.</b>

<b>An anti-tear polyurethane coated mesh provides protection and ventilation without sacrificing durability.</b>

<b>The seamless look is both sleek and functional. Without seams to peel up, they're bound to last longer.</b>

<b>It's not always dry and sunny, despite how much Curtis Keene wishes it would be. When dry, the Clip weighs 450g and Flat 395g per shoe. When wet, not much more.</b>

<b>The upper and tongue are constructed with an “air mesh” material that has the cushioning of foam, but is highly breathable and does not retain water.</b>

<b>Expect to see several riders rocking the new shoes in short order. You've already seen Brosnan take them to the top of the World Cup DH podium.</b>
