Eurobike 2015
The engineers over at Cane Creek must be restless as they are starting to combine several shocks into one. The latest prototype is a bit of a Frankenstein job which integrates parts of the DB Inline air shock with the DB Coil. The intent was to make a coil shock that is as light as possible. It's known internally as the DB Coil IL (short for Inline). It's intended for mid-travel bikes in the 140-160mm travel range.
By removing the piggyback and going with the DB Inline system they are able to drop 149 grams over the standard DB coil. It's currently only made in the 200x57mm size. Cane Creek is curious to hear what you guys think of the new design and if you are interested in owning one. At this stage it is just a prototype but we can see where it would be quite useful, especially on frames lacking sufficient room for a standard coil shock.
