The trails outside Falls City, Oregon, once famous for their iconic wood features and legendary freeride segments, have fallen into disrepair after years of neglect and near-loss of land access. Fortunately, Matt Lund, a founding member and current president of the Black Rock Mountain Bike Association, has rallied friends to restore the trail system 20 years after its inception. A New Beginning, featured in the 2024 Freehub PRESENTS, is a mini-documentary about Black Rock’s revival, with professional freerider Cam McCaul and his close friends leading the effort to rehabilitate one of the world’s most iconic freeride networks.
